Big Bone Lick Snowstorm
Here are some original photographs after a massive snowstorm at Big Bone Lick State Park in March 2008.
The park was covered with about a foot of snow, which is a lot for Northern Kentucky.
I love how snow transforms everything you see into a marshmallow world of white.
The Native American teepees look more like hot-fudge sundaes.
No picnics today!
Big Bone Creek freezes occasionally but is still flowing well today.
Across the street from the park at Big Bone Gardens is the house that Dr. John E. Stevenson built around 1870. He was the physician at the Big Bone Springs when it was a popular resort.
Our dog Shadow looks like a wolf hunting prey…
All dogs are angels.
Time to walk home after a beautiful winter hike.
